What are the different methods to increase breast size?
Only surgical methods can increase breast size significantly.
These are breast implant placement surgery or breast fat grafting surgery.
Minimally invasive methods like PRP injections AKA Vampire breast augmentation are only temporary
and are mainly used for rejuvenation purposes.
Fillers in the breast are not recommended.
Other methods like massages and oils or creams are completely ineffective and budget draining.
There are various other factors which influence the type of augmentation procedure best suited for you.
These include:
- Measurements of your current breasts – breast base diameter, nipple position etc.
- Your physique and bone structure.
- Your overall weight and body fat thickness.
- Your general health.
What additional procedures can be suggested to improve outcomes?
If you have sagging breasts – breast lift may be recommended to bring back your nipples to a more natural position.
Additional fat grafting may be suggested depending on your desired look and the condition of your breast.
What type of implants will be used?
The current recommendation is to use Smooth shelled Silicone Gel implants, these have the least long.
term complication rates amongst all implant types.
The shape and size of the implant will be decided based your desired look and the conditions of your existing breasts.
Where is the implant placed?
The implant is generally placed between the breast gland and the underlying chest muscle.
In few patients with very thin skin on the breasts, the implants may be placed under the muscle.
Where is the incision/cut placed?
The incision to place the implant is generally on the underside of the breast and well hidden in the bra.
In some instances other incisions will be used specifically suited for the patients condition.
What Anaesthesia will be used?
General anaesthesia is preferred for ensuring patient comfort.
You will be asked to fast for 6-8 hours before surgery for safe anaesthesia.
What is the post-operative period like?
You may be discharged on the same day of surgery after recovery from anaesthesia.
You will have some swelling and discomfort or pain in the first week following surgery.
You will be instructed to take antibiotics and medication for pain for 5 days or more,
The incision site will heal in 2 weeks time.
You can resume regular physical activity within a week’s time, but heavy lifting and strenuous workouts must be avoided for 6 weeks.
You will be asked to wear supportive undergarment for few weeks.
After the first week you will be trained and instructed to perform implant displacement exercises to decrease long-term complications.
